The Guild goes on tour

Starting on the 28th of October, The Guild of Property Professionals will be embarking on its Autumn/Winter 2021 Tour, hosting regional meetings in various cities around the UK. This will be the first time since The Guild Conference at the start of 2020, that Members will be meeting face-to-face.

Iain McKenzie, CEO of The Guild of Property Professionals, says: “The pandemic hit shortly after our conference in 2020 and for the last 18 months most of our interaction with the network has been virtual. Despite this we have been able to adapt and have remained connected to our Members ensuring they have received the same level of service. Over the past year and a half, our Park Lane office was open by appointment and we have had two Business Owners Only Virtual events, a Virtual Conference, Live at Ones, weekly regional zoom calls, and a series of other webinars on new products, services, and acquisitions. While we have logged a lot of hours on screen, our upcoming tour, which is entitled FAST FORWARD >> 10 years in 18 months, is a chance for us as an organisation to once again meet our Members and engage face-to-face. So much has happened in the sector and within The Guild during the past year and a half, so it will be great to be able to see our Members in person and cover some of the latest evolutions.”

He says that as the name of the tour suggests, the sector seems to have fast forwarded and evolved at an alarming rate, which is one of the aspects that will be discussed at the meetings. “The pandemic has been a catalyst for change and accelerated the progression within the sector. While many of the changes were already on the cards and may have happened over time, circumstances forced the industry to adapt at a far quicker rate and we seem to be a decade ahead of where we would have been,” says McKenzie.

Other aspects that will be covered at the meetings include PropQual, the learning platform The Guild will be using to support an Ofqual-accredited qualification for estate and lettings agents. “A formal qualification is something the network has been asking for, and we are proud to be delivering a platform that will provide agents with the training they desire and will help further raise the standards within the sector,” McKenzie comments.

The meetings will also cover the epropservices’ acquisitions of Starberry, The Property Jungle and LeadPro, and how their expertise can benefit the network, as well as an overview of the property market and better understanding clients in the wake of COVID. “As mentioned, a lot has happened both within the sector and The Guild. As an organisation we have been working to ensure we have all the products and partners in place to enhance our service offering and provide our Members with an advantage in today’s competitive environment that is heavily driven by digital marketing and lead generation,” adds McKenzie.
