This September, The Guild of Property Professionals and Agents Giving hosted their highly anticipated Charity Golf and Spa Day at the prestigious Belfry Golf Resort in Warwickshire. The event, which brought together industry professionals for a day of networking, fun, and philanthropy, raised almost £30,000 to support Agents Giving and the Bone Cancer Research Trust.
The event was headlined by The ESTAS as the main sponsor, Sarah Brown, CEO of The ESTAS said, “We were delighted to be the Headline Sponsor for the event. It’s days like this when we see how fantastic our industry is at coming together to raise money for such a worthwhile charity while having some great fun at the same time.”
Other sponsors on the day included Gilson Gray and Just Move In as Gold Sponsors, while GOTO Group provided much-needed support by sponsoring the golf buggies, a welcome comfort for the golfers as they played on the iconic Brabazon Course. Other notable sponsors included TM Group, O’Riordan Bond Holdings, Rightmove, LettsPay, On The Market, and Coadjute, who sponsored individual holes, while Rayner Personnel sponsored the Nearest to the Pin competition, and Redbrick Solutions sponsored the drinks buggy. Using Golf Genius software, participants were able to track their scores and keep up with the competition via an app throughout the day and Ady Wheatcroft hosted a fun ACE Golf Challenge on the course, encouraging golfers to test their skills all while raising further funds.
Following a shotgun start, players enjoyed tournament conditions on the renowned Brabazon Course as the event took place just three days after the British Masters, with participants walking in the footsteps of golfing legends. Meanwhile, spa-goers indulged in a relaxing day that included a treatment and lunch at the Rocca restaurant.
The day concluded with a spectacular Chef’s BBQ and drinks on the veranda overlooking the famous 10th Hole, where DJ Dave Seed of Qube Residential provided entertainment, bringing together both golfers and spa attendees for an evening of camaraderie, good food and free-flowing drinks.
A charity auction followed the day's festivities, featuring generous donations from across the industry, including a four-ball at Oxfordshire Golf Club, a driving experience, a Magnum of Champagne and several luxury golfing experiences. These impressive auction lots helped further the fundraising efforts, making the event a resounding success. David Newnes, Agents Giving Charity thanked everyone for all their support, describing the event as a wonderful day for two amazing charities.
The event culminated with the presentation of the Sanjay Cup by Agents Giving Patron, Phil Spencer. C residential were the ultimate winners of the tournament, lifting the coveted trophy with pride at the events after party. The award was named in honour of respected Guild Member, Sanjay Gandhi, who was diagnosed with a Chordoma Brain Tumour in 2023. He said, “A massive Thank you to everyone who took time out of their day and gave generously to help raise thousands of pounds for Bone Cancer. I was overwhelmed with the support and the amount of people that came up to me and expressed their thanks for watching my video and helping inspire others. The sense of belonging and community on the day was exceptional. A special mention to Iain McKenzie for naming the cup after me and something I will never forget. Thank you to all the sponsors for making this happen as without you this would not have been possible, including headline sponsor ESTAS and Phil Spencer.”
Echoing Sanjay’s remarks, Iain McKenzie, CEO of The Guild of Property Professionals, comments, “We are incredibly grateful to have the support of so many industry leaders. This event is not just about the golf; it's about bringing the property industry together for a greater cause. The funds raised today will make a real difference in the lives of those supported by Agents Giving and the Bone Cancer Research Trust.”
